Back in the Courtroom
While cum/ex trades are back on trial with a criminal lawsuit againt Dr. Hanno Berger at the Landgericht Bonn, I had the pleasure to continue my study in the courtroom. A KHK/GCR21 working paper on the first cum/ex trial will be published soon.
Point Alpha Research Institute
On June 17, 2021, we have established an association (Verein) to launch the Point Alpha Research Institite on the former inner-German border between Hessen and Thuringia. The Institute will be run as a collaboration between Fulda University of Applied Sciences and University of Erfurt and be funded by the Federal State of Thuringia. Work will address Cold War Studies, Border Studies, and questions of Democracy in a Global Order.

On April 29, 2021, I have been appointed Professor in Political Science (Politics of Human Rights) at Fulda University of Applied Sciences. Habilitation
On Monday, Jan 25, I have successfully finished the process of my Habilitation with a talk on “tax arbitrage: on the global production of grey zones”. Feels great! My thanks go the members of the commission who generated a great atmosphere for academic discussion, even though the event had to take place online.

My “In-Between Juridification and Politicisation: Zooming in on the Everyday Politics of Law” has been published in an edited volume on “Rethinking Politicisation in Politics, Sociology and International Relations” edited by Claudia Wiesner with Springer’s Palgrave Studies in European Political Sociology book series (PSEPS).

Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London
Since September 2020, I am a senior research fellow at the Dickson Poon School of Law Transnational Law Institute, King’s College London. I’m looking forward to this collaboration. In November, I will convene a session on “Pandemics and Power: COVID-19 and the Politics of Health” for the TLI Focus Seminars.
New Position in Fulda
In the winter term 2019/20 and summer term 2020, I will be Acting Professor of Political Science & the Politics of Human Rights at Hochschule Fulda, Germany.
